Just the six core cast members are involved in the greatest sections of Friends: The Reunion, which is currently available on HBO Max. James Corden does an excellent job as host; BTS, Justin Bieber, and Lady Gaga appear; and the show’s writers provide behind-the-scenes details — and it’s all terrific. But the scenes where Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer just sit around on the old set of the show, conversing as if no one else in the world exists, are the ones you’ll remember the most.
The legendary NBC sitcom is about that moment in life when your friends become your family, as it is repeatedly said in the reunion. Is it any surprise, then, that the program has such a following, particularly among people who grew up watching it and have since moved on to partners and possibly children, mortgages, and high-pressure jobs? Who wouldn’t wish to go back to a simpler time when there were fewer duties and more opportunities for spontaneous laughter? IMDB
