The trio makes their way out the front door and into the dark woods behind the apartment after knocking out Natacha with the help of her cat Lenore. But they soon learn that this isn’t a path to the truth, but rather a path to the exit. They meet the true witch, who is considerably older and more powerful than Natacha, when they come across a cottage made of captivating candies and fall under its spell. Natacha exposes the truth about her background at this very time, as the actual witch threatens to escape her grave for good.
She was the Unicorn Girl from the journal entries, after all. Natacha quietly devised her plot to escape by administering the sleeping potion on her captor, who was the true witch’s favorite child (the witch had no problem devouring all of the other children). And it was successful! When Natacha returned home, she learned that her parents had gone on without her, naively leaving the lost child who had battled so hard to be reunited with them. Natacha was so furious that she went back to the witch’s lair and encased her in a machine in order to harvest her abilities and pass them off as her own (this is why Natacha sprays herself with the blue mist each night). Animated by rage and revulsion. IMDB
